About the Practitioner

“Science is a unique way to study and explain the world around us. When scientific progress is made then it is our responsibility to share it with the world. For me this means continually incorporating the latest understanding of movement function into the Pilates sessions.”

After completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours, Filippa worked as an analytical scientist, developing the strong research principles that still shape her teaching today — work that led to presentations at international science conferences and published research in the journal Biochimica et Biophysica Acta.

A change of course followed a personal one: unable to move without pain in her own daily life, Filippa went looking for a movement modality that addressed form and function together, in service of rehabilitation. She found Pilates, and within a short time felt the benefits — then, true to form, needed to understand exactly why. That question led her to complete her teacher training and to her current work as a rehabilitation specialist.

With over a decade of experience, Filippa has developed her own movement methodology — Functional Pilates: A Scientist's Approach — combining five key disciplines: Pilates, Physics, Anatomy, Research and Education. She mentors other Pilates teachers, provides ongoing professional development within the industry, and maintains her clinical knowledge through Master classes with leading physiotherapists and through the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute. Her personal interest in neuroscience, brain function and neuroplasticity continues to shape her methodology.

The Collective

Q Wellness Collective is a gathering of independent practitioners working across the three quiet seasons of a body's life — prevention, rehabilitation, and restoration.

What we are

A community of independent practitioners working as a collective. We collaborate across disciplines — referring between us, consulting on shared cases, and shaping one another's thinking through ongoing exchange. No single discipline answers every need; together, we hold the whole. What we hold in common is a passion for helping people and a mastery of our individual disciplines — earned through years of training, refined through years of practice, and offered with the unhurried care each body deserves.

What we offer

Private and small‑group sessions in Functional Pilates, yoga, meditation, post‑surgical rehabilitation, balance, and breathwork — and we are always looking to welcome new disciplines that fit within our ethics. Clients move between us as the work demands: from prevention into rehabilitation, from rehabilitation into the longer restoration.

i.
Prevention
The least visible of our work, building core, muscle and bone strength, and training balance and posture, before the body is ever forced to ask for help.
ii.
Rehabilitation
The careful, structured work of returning a body to function after injury, surgery, illness, or long compensation.
iii.
Restoration
After rehabilitation, restoring your body and your confidence. Setting your goals for an active and independent life.
